Hosting and website security
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Content delivery and protection against attacks are provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
When you access the website, Cloudflare processes technical data, including your IP address and information about requests and your device. Depending on the request, this may include the requested URL, date and time, response status, browser information and referring website.
Processing serves to deliver the website, maintain availability, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this website.
Cloudflare is a recipient of data. Processing on behalf of the controller is governed by Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum (DPA).
Technical data is retained as necessary to provide the services, diagnose problems and investigate security incidents. Retention depends on the type of data, the relevant service feature and any need to comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Once these grounds no longer apply, the data must be deleted or anonymised.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is used to assess website traffic and performance. The setting excluding visitors from the European Union is enabled: Cloudflare should not automatically inject the analytics script for those visitors.
For other visitors, information about page views, referring websites, device types, browsers and loading performance may be collected. According to Cloudflare, this service does not use cookies, localStorage or device fingerprinting to track individual users. Statistics are available to the website operator for the preceding six months.
To the extent that personal data is processed and the GDPR applies, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is assessing and improving website performance.
Processing outside the EEA
Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Relevant transfers to the United States rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For other transfers requiring additional safeguards, Cloudflare’s DPA provides for the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Email enquiries
If you contact me by email, your email address, message and any information you provide are processed to respond to your enquiry. Gmail is used for correspondence; email providers involved in delivering and storing messages also process this data.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, reflecting the legitimate interest in handling incoming enquiries. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies where an enquiry relates to entering into a contract.
Correspondence is retained until the enquiry has been resolved, unless further retention is required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
